Job Summary
The Public Area Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of public spaces within the hotel. This position is essential for ensuring a welcoming environment for guests and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a commitment to high standards of cleanliness, and a passion for hospitality.
Duties
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of public areas including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, fitness center, and outdoor spaces.
- Conduct floor care tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing to ensure all surfaces are clean and presentable.
- Respond promptly to guest requests regarding cleanliness or maintenance issues in public areas.
- Monitor supplies and report any shortages or needs for cleaning materials to management.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies while performing cleaning duties.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned by management.
- Maintain equipment used in cleaning processes to ensure it is in good working condition.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial roles preferred; hotel experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and custodial practices.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed during cleaning tasks.
