While this role may offer flexibility when traveling, proximity to an RS plant is required to support on-site collaboration and operational needs. ***Industry: Building MaterialsJob Category: Engineering – MechanicalYour Day to Day:The Senior Project Engineer is accountable for all technical and commercial aspects of large and complex investment projects.The typical budget is $5M to $60M, and consists of various unit operations including material handling, abatement systems, utilities and electrical controls.Responsible for equipment and work specifications; develops schedules, budgets and forecasts; selects materials, equipment, project resources, and contractors, and ensures all aspects of the design are reviewed technically and commercially for scope, safety, quality, and functionality.Leads a cross-functional project team that typically consists of plant personnel, discipline engineers, procurement and external engineering contractors. Reports to the project steering team which reviews options and provides support and guidance at the various phases of the project.Job Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering, (chemical, electrical or mechanical) with a minimum of5 years engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing industryStrong project management skills with projects up to $25MExperience managing contractors and sub-contractors, including bid processExperience preparing estimates, schedules and project deliverablesProven ability to negotiate and manage changeExposure to SAP systems a plusHeavy travel required (30%-60%)Work environment – is typical of a manufacturing facility: May be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust/mist/gas/fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.
