Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to lead our volunteer program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in volunteer management and social work, with a passion for supporting individuals in hospice care. As the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers while fostering a supportive environment that enhances the quality of life for patients and their families for our locations in Kansas, MIssouri and Clinton.

Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive volunteer recruitment strategies to attract diverse candidates through campus recruitment and social media management.
  • Train and develop volunteers to ensure they are well-prepared to provide compassionate support to patients and families.
  • Supervise volunteers, offering guidance and mentorship to promote effective service delivery and personal growth.
  • Manage volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for patient support while accommodating individual availability.
  • Conduct public speaking engagements to raise awareness about hospice services and the importance of volunteer contributions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess patient needs and match them with appropriate volunteer services.
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer activities using Salesforce and Raiser's Edge for tracking engagement and impact.
  • Foster a positive team environment that encourages leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement among volunteers.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in volunteer management or social work, demonstrating a commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
  • Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of volunteers.
  • Excellent public speaking skills with experience in community outreach or engagement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Raiser's Edge for managing volunteer data effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability in training and development practices tailored to adult learners.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with social media management strategies to enhance outreach efforts is preferred.
