Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the day-to-day financial recordkeeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance across various accounting functions. Your expertise will support our organization's financial health by maintaining precise records, reconciling accounts, and preparing essential financial reports. Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
  • Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure consistency between bank statements and internal records.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Prepare and record journal entries accurately, including debits & credits, to reflect all financial activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to verify the accuracy of financial data.
  • Manage payroll processing and related tax compliance to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.
  • Assist with budgeting processes by analyzing financial data and preparing reports for management review.
  • Support governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting procedures as needed.
  • Perform account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies or errors promptly.
  • Write clear financial reports, summaries, and documentation to facilitate decision-making processes.
  • Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and account analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations related to bookkeeping practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks.
  • Experience with governmental or non-profit accounting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of technical accounting concepts, including general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, and financial report writing.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, accounts payable/receivable management, and bank reconciliation procedures.
  • Ability to perform 10-key typing accurately for data entry tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in account reconciliation and general ledger management.
  • Strong analytical skills for account analysis and identifying discrepancies quickly.
  • Effective communication skills for documenting processes clearly and collaborating with team members.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
