Role: Python/AWS Lead Developer - With GenAI Exposure

Location: Austin, TX (Onsite)

Compensation: $120,000 Annual Base Salary + Quarterly Bonus (Negotiable)

Experience: 5 - 8 years of Python Developer Experience

At least 1 year as a lead, managing onshore OR offshore teams.

At least 1 year of hands-on experience with integrating GenAI components to production systems.

Senior AWS/Python Development Lead

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Lead to drive the development of a secure, scalable knowledge platform and agentic AI capabilities. You will lead a small cross-functional engineering team and own all Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a small development team while remaining deeply hands-on in coding and architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with product and UX to align on requirements, scope, and delivery timelines.

Backend & Serverless Development

  • Architect, build, and scale serverless microservices and document-processing pipelines using AWS and Python.
  • Ensure high-quality implementation, reliability, and security across services.

Cloud Infrastructure & CI/CD

  • Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Helm.
  • Drive infrastructure automation, observability, and deployment best practices.

Architecture Ownership

  • Own and evolve end-to-end system architecture with a focus on scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.

GenAI & Agentic Systems

  • Integrate practical Generative AI capabilities, including:
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Vector and hybrid search
  • Tool orchestration for agentic workflows

Performance Optimization

  • Continuously improve system latency, reliability, performance, and cost.

Required Skills & Experience:

Core Technical Expertise

  • Python:
    Strong hands-on development expertise; ability to design clean, scalable code.
  • AWS:
    Deep experience with AWS services including Lambda, S3, API Gateway, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Kinesis, and Glue.
  • DevOps:
    Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Helm.

GenAI & Applied AI

  • Practical experience integrating Generative AI components in production systems.
  • Strong understanding of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and agentic AI patterns.
