Peer Recovery Specialist

Position Overview
Hybrid Counseling is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) to support clients enrolled in our virtual One Year Clear IOP program. This is a part-time, flexible role that may expand based on client needs, program growth, and the PRS's demonstrated ability to provide meaningful value to clients.
The PRS uses lived recovery experience to support engagement, motivation, accountability, and connection to recovery-oriented resources. Services are delivered primarily remotely, with some in-person support requiring local driving.
Schedule & Location
- Hours: Part-time, starting at approximately 10+ hours per week
- Schedule: Flexible, based on client needs and availability
- Location: Primarily remote/virtual
- In-Person: Some local travel required to meet with clients as clinically appropriate
Key Responsibilities
Typical Peer Recovery Specialist duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide peer-based recovery support to clients enrolled in the IOP program
- Support clients in developing and maintaining recovery-oriented goals
- Offer encouragement, accountability, and lived-experience insight
- Assist clients with engagement in treatment, groups, and recovery activities
- Support transitions between levels of care and long-term recovery planning
- Help clients build natural supports and connect with community resources
- Provide check-ins, follow-ups, and recovery coaching sessions (virtual and/or in person)
- Assist clients with barriers to participation, motivation, and follow-through
- Document services accurately and timely per program and regulatory standards
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and ethical standards
- Collaborate with counselors, case managers, and program leadership
- Participate in team meetings and supervision as required
Reporting Structure
- Reports to the Lead IOP Counselor and Program Director
Qualifications
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (or eligible/working toward certification, depending on state requirements)
- Lived experience in recovery aligned with peer support principles
- Strong communication, reliability, and organizational skills
- Comfort with telehealth platforms and virtual engagement
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a clinical team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for in-person client support
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and program policies

Pay: $ $23.00 per hour
