Remote, Oregon, United States Protective Full time $105,000 - $145,000 per year

The work we do has an impact on millions of lives, and you can be a part of it.

We help protect our customers against life's uncertainties. Regardless of where you work within the company, you'll be helping provide protection and peace of mind when our customers need it most.

The Lead, Field Technology Platform Optimization & Communication Strategy is responsible for driving strategic and operational excellence across our digital platforms, ensuring we are optimally scored and positioned within the Field Technology ecosystem. This role interprets evolving platform scoring models, competitor capabilities, and internal workflows to recommend best practices that improve platform visibility, accelerate funnel conversion, and drive policy placements.

To succeed, the lead will drive operational simplification efforts, implement technology-enabled solutions such as API connectivity, and oversee customer communication strategies to ensure clarity and seamless progression through the sales funnel. This is both a strategic and operational leadership role that balances platform strategy, vendor governance, process improvement, and communication oversight to create a seamless, 'easy to do business with' experience for customers and distribution partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Field Technology Platform Strategy
  • Monitor, interpret, and optimize how our business is scored and rated across Field Technology platforms.
  • Define a proactive strategy to ensure top positioning within these platforms, including roadmap alignment.
  • Translate scoring insights into operational and workflow improvements that enhance platform rankings, increase application volume, and strengthen competitive positioning.
  • Operational Simplification & Process Excellence
  • Lead related key initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce cycle times, and improve throughput across sales and operations.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and applicable continuous improvement methodologies to identify bottlenecks and drive measurable operational improvements.
  • Ensure operational changes directly support improved platform scoring and drive a differentiated customer onboarding experience.
  • Technology Enablement & Connectivity
  • Explore and recommend ways to enhance "ease of business," including API-enabled connectivity and integration with Field Technology partners.
  • Partner with IT and vendors to design, test, and implement connectivity solutions that increase adoption and efficiency.
  • Communication Strategy & Funnel Optimization
  • Govern all customer-facing communications to ensure they are clear, consistent, and supportive of conversion through the sales funnel.
  • Partner with marketing, compliance, and operations to refine messaging that reduces friction, accelerates decisions, and drives policy placement.
  • Establish governance and feedback loops to continuously improve communication effectiveness.
  • Performance Monitoring & Business Impact
  • Track funnel conversion rates, life insurance application volume, policy placement speed, platform throughput, and cost per application.
  • Develop reporting dashboards that connect communication effectiveness, platform scoring, and operational performance to business results.
  • Provide executive insights and recommendations that link platform strategy directly to revenue and competitive positioning.
Key Attributes:
  • Strategic Platform Optimizer – Able to anticipate and interpret evolving scoring models, external platform dynamics, and internal operations to recommend best practices and shape future strategy.
  • Operational Excellence Leader – Strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, consulting, or continuous improvement techniques; proven ability to drive operational change that improves business results.
  • Technology-Forward Mindset – Experience with API enablement, digital workflows, and platform integration to create "easy to do business with" experiences.
  • Cross-Functional Influence – Skilled at aligning diverse stakeholders across Sales, Operations, IT, Compliance, and Distribution.
  • Conversion & Growth Focused – Commitment to improving funnel conversion rates, driving policy placements, and delivering tangible business outcomes.
  • Analytical & Insight-Driven – Ability to connect scoring performance, operational metrics, and customer outcomes into actionable insights.
  • Change Leadership – Proven ability to champion transformation and inspire adoption of new ways of working across teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, IT, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in platform analytics, operations strategy, or vendor/platform management.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret business challenges, evaluate platform scoring models, and lead division-wide improvement initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar process improvement frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of digital connectivity solutions, such as API integrations and platform interoperability.
  • Exceptional communication and governance skills; able to simplify complexity and drive funnel optimization through customer-focused messaging.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, SQL) to connect operational insights with business performance.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in life insurance, financial services, or customer onboarding technologies.
  • Knowledge of Field Technology platforms and their role in distributor/customer experience.
  • Track record of driving measurable improvements in funnel conversion and policy placement.
