POSITION SUMMARY

The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician will play a critical role in preparing and dispensing sterile medications, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with all medications according to prescriptions, perform quality assurance checks, and maintain the sterility and safety of the compounding area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sterile Compounding: Prepare and dispense sterile medications according to prescriptions, compounding guidelines, and established protocols.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of compounding processes, including checking for proper aseptic technique, accurate measurements, and documentation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, including USP 797 for sterile drugs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and manage inventory of sterile compounding supplies and medications, ensuring stock levels are adequate and expiration dates are monitored.
  • Patient Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures to maintain a sterile environment and prevent contamination.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of compounding activities, including lot numbers, expiration dates, and patient information.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists, other technicians, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $22.00 per hour
