Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant for our Phoenix, AZ office. The Payroll Assistant plays a critical support role within the Payroll Operations, ensuring smooth and timely payroll operations by managing administrative workflows and acting as a liaison between departments. This position is responsible for monitoring and managing the payroll inbox, following up on missing documentation or signatures, and preparing payroll-related tasks for processing by the Payroll Coordinators.

Responsitilities

  • Monitor and triage the payroll inbox, ensuring timely responses and appropriate routing of inquiries.
  • Track and follow up on missing or incomplete payroll documentation, including approvals and signatures.
  • Prepare and organize payroll input data to ensure Payroll Coordinators can process payroll efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding payroll tasks, including data entry and verification.
  • Support compliance with internal controls and payroll-related policies.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Provide backup coverage for Payroll Coordinators during vacations or leaves of absence, with training provided as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Occasional weekend work may be required to support critical payroll deadlines.

  • Familiarity with payroll systems and processes, or prior experience supporting payroll operations, is preferred but not required.
