OPERATION MANAGER
As the Operations Manager, you will be involved in key strategic projects across the business, working cross-functionally to implement solutions, troubleshoot problems and monitor the effectiveness of strategic initiatives. Directs the day-to-day warehouse operation and assists in the development of the warehouse supervisory personnel to support the client requirements toward obtaining optimum efficiency and economy of processes in order to maximize profits. Lead a team of warehouse supervisors and customer service personnel in a fast-paced, warehouse environment. Manages all facets of warehouse operations and ensures systems, processes, and reporting are aligned to meet customer requirements. Helps formulate operating policies and procedures for the distribution operations, which ensure the effective and efficient operation in the receiving, storing, and shipping of customers' products and in compliance with the required guidelines of the customer.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor work intake, productivity, and projects and assign work to the team accordingly.
- Monitor and manage work inventories to ensure adequate staffing and resources are available to meet performance guarantees and established goals are met and maintained.
- Communicate organizational and functional strategy and translate into individual and team goals, to ensure that team activities contribute to overall success of the business
- Develop and foster a coordinated, cohesive department that achieves measurable results Facilitate cooperation and develop relationships with internal departments and customers to achieve shared business goals
- Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness
- Continuously improve operational procedures such as verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and dispositioning merchandise, and maintaining warehouse inventory
- Partner with inventory control, and operations support to ensure availability of products
- Plan long-range labor needs based on sales forecasts and input from management
- Facilitate the achievement of prescribed company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) regarding cost, productivity, customer service, profits, and team members
- Operate the facility in compliance with health, safety, and environment regulations to establish and practice a culture of safety among the team members at all times
- Analyze operational reports to identify trends and recommend solutions to management
- Build and maintain partnerships with other departments i.e. Finance, HR.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policy and regulatory and legal requirements. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, recognizing, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and problem resolution.

- Seeks out and listens to others' ideas and suggestions. Provides clear and concise feedback to direct reports, peers and senior leaders.
- Ability to effect change and implement new ideas to support business operations.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- 4-year Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of operational experience
- Proven effective leadership experience in managing exempt and non-exempt employees
Knowledge of distribution and compliance
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Good reasoning, conflict-management, and analytical and problem-solving skills
Skills and Competencies
- Thorough knowledge of Operations Management
- Excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills (verbal/written), and management skills
- Ability to build morale and promote teamwork
- Ability to engage workforce and mentor leadership
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with SAP WMS or similar Warehouse Management Systems preferred
- Technical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to adapt to a fast paced work environment
- TPAT knowledge and experience
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel domestically up to 5-10%
