Forward Deployed Engineer with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to support a cutting-edge aerospace technology company revolutionizing satellite operations . The Forward Deployed Engineer will be responsible for deploying and supporting mission-critical software in customer environments, building trusted relationships, and driving rapid prototyping efforts. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance . Responsibilities of the Forward Deployed Engineer include:
- Configure and deploy software in customer environments, ensuring reliability and performance across complex workflows
- Troubleshoot issues across backend APIs, cloud infrastructure, databases, and frontend interfaces
- Travel to customer sites and embed with operations teams to build trusted technical relationships
- Rapidly prototype solutions using live customer data and iterate based on direct feedback
- Act as the voice of the customer in product discussions, translating field insights into roadmap priorities
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to convert successful prototypes into production-ready code
- Develop playbooks for repeatable integrations and maintain clear documentation and training resources Qualifications for the Forward Deployed Engineer include:
- Active TS/SCI clearance * on-site in DC, Los Angeles, or Denver and
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in customer-facing or mission-critical environments
- Proficiency in Python; experience with TypeScript, Java, and React is a plus
- Experience building software with AI development tools
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Certified Kubernetes Administrator are a plus
