Established law firm has an immediate opening for a Legal Clerk. Ideal candidate will have an upbeat, positive and helpful temperament. Opportunities for growth and development. Great place to gain legal knowledge and experience. Starting pay is $12.00/hr. Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. This is an in-office position.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Mailing and Emailing Documents: Prepare, organize, and send documents to members through traditional mail and email systems in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Cover Letter Coordination: Ensure that all documents are accompanied by the correct department cover letter tailored to the specific communication.
  • Document Management: Maintain an organized system for tracking and archiving sent documents and correspondence.
  • Compliance: Ensure all documents are sent in compliance with company policies and confidentiality standards.
  • Data Entry: Input relevant information into internal systems to ensure accurate records of all mailed and emailed documents.
  • Answer Incoming Calls: Answer incoming calls from LegalShield members, delivering quality service and creating a positive caller experience. Verify member information and follow applicable scripts.
  • Outgoing Calls: Make outgoing calls to members to follow up on the delivery of prepared documents, addressing any related questions or concerns.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues related to mailing or emailing, including bounced emails, incorrect addresses, or returned mail.
  • Client Interaction: Meet with clients as needed to assist with scanning documents, serving as a notary witness, or delivering documents for pickup.
  • Confidentiality and Privileged Communications: Observe rules governing privileged communications and confidential information, ensuring that all member data is handled in accordance with company policies.
  • Professionalism: Adhere to firm standards of courtesy, professionalism, and LegalShield service standard requirements in all communications and interactions.
  • Additional Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support as needed, including assisting with special mailing projects or other tasks within the department.

Secondary Job Duties:

  • Special projects as required.
  • Other tasks/projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Cross-training in other departments and functions as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Typing Skills: Accurate and proficient typing skills (40 wpm).
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with members and colleagues.
  • Customer Service Orientation: A friendly, professional demeanor when answering calls and interacting with members and colleagues, with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling documents and addressing member inquiries.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to organize and manage a variety of tasks, including document preparation, mail sorting, and data entry, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Confidentiality and Integrity: Strong understanding of confidentiality principles and experience handling sensitive or privileged information with discretion.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in using office software (Microsoft Office, email systems) and basic office equipment (printers, copiers, postage machines). Familiarity with document management software or systems is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to handle issues or discrepancies quickly and efficiently.
  • Attendance: Must be reliable with consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Location: Must live in the North Texas area.

One location: In office only.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 – 40 per week
