Job Description And Duties
As the Classification Recruitment and Selection Manager, under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II, you will provide a team of analysts with consultative and technical support through various phases of the hiring process to ensure compliance with the laws, rules, regulations, and policies governing personnel.

You will help to achieve CalRecycle's mission, vision, and goals by ensuring the efficiency and fairness of the merit-based hiring process. You will accomplish this by conducting research, interpreting various laws, providing recommendations, and developing tools and resources necessary for implementing new strategies and procedures that will enhance current processes.

Your responsibilities will include coaching, mentoring, training, evaluating, and providing feedback to staff as needed. You will lead a team that serves as the main point of contact to division managers, supervisors, and personnel liaisons in the classification, recruitment and selection processes.

This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position's designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense.
Beginning July 1st, 2026, it is anticipated the position will be office-centered and employees will be expected to report to the office at least four days per week.
