What you'll do

  • Safely operate a variety of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
  • Load and unload freight efficiently while ensuring proper handling of cargo.
  • Navigate assigned routes effectively to meet delivery schedules while adhering to traffic laws.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate with dispatchers regarding route changes or any issues encountered during transport.
  • Utilize manual transmission skills when necessary to enhance driving performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal delivery processes and customer satisfaction.

Basic qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated.
  • Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on delivery driver roles.
  • Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience operating refrigerated trailers or tankers is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with forklift operation for loading and unloading tasks.
  • Previous experience with route driving in various geographical areas.
