Behavioral Health Specialist II

The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD) is seeking to hire a Behavioral Health Specialist, Level II (LISW or PCC) who will provide behavioral assessments and design support strategies for assigned individuals. The nature of work for the BHS II position will include, but is not limited to the following:
- Perform comprehensive behavioral assessment and contribute to inclusion of behavioral health strategies in the ISP.
- Perform specialized assessments, diagnostic testing, and other psychosocial interventions as directed by supervisor.
- Make recommendations for program placement, objectives and intervention strategies. (This may include referral to outside community agency.)
- Provide on‑going consultation as needed.
- Evaluate and conceptualize the needs of individuals on the basis of the individual's history, data, interviews, and direct observation.
- Apply knowledge from the professional literature whenever possible.
- Provide counseling, therapy, and other direct interventions to individuals and families, including services to groups of individuals.
- Develop data collection procedures and behavioral programs.
- Monitor implementation of behavior support policies and procedures including facilitation of Cuyahoga DD Human Rights Committees.
- Train staff in the implementation of techniques when needed.
- Provide supervision of student interns
- Assist in the collection of program evaluation data in accordance with department or agency direction.
- Provide systematic training for Cuyahoga DD and other staff and parents.
- Maintain all required statistics and records and service-related documentation including but not limited to treatment plans, assessments, and progress notes.
- Will consistently meet departmental productivity requirements.
* STARTING SALARY: The salary listed in the header is the minimum salary for any employee hired into Pay Schedule E. It is important to understand that the actual starting salary will be determined based on many factors including the breadth and depth of the knowledge, skills, education and experiences brought by the candidate. Starting salaries are negotiable based on these factors as well as it is Cuyahoga DD's intent to pay each employee a salary that is reasonable and competitive based on the market rate for the position, while also considering not only internal equity but also the budgetary constraints.

Qualifications- Master's degree in counseling, Social Work or a discipline designated as an equivalent by the designated licensing board.
- Licensed as an Independent Social Worker or Professional Clinical Counselor.
- Specific training in developmental disabilities.
- Certified as a Service and Support Administrator, which certification can be obtained following hire.
- Hold a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record according to Cuyahoga DD policy. Due to this requirement, you will be required to provide your DL number during the application process. Failure to provide your DL# will remove you from consideration.
