Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Day Porter to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in commercial, residential, or industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine cleaning, custodial tasks, and light maintenance to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for clients and staff. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with janitorial or custodial experience to contribute to the upkeep of various properties while demonstrating strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Duties
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, polishing, and maintaining various flooring surfaces
- Assist with facilities maintenance including minor repairs and light custodial duties
- Ensure common areas are clean, safe, and well-organized throughout the day
- Restock supplies as needed in restrooms, break rooms, and cleaning stations
- Monitor and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly
- Support special projects such as residential painting or industrial cleaning when required
- Maintain equipment used for cleaning and floor care, ensuring proper operation and safety standards are met
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures and floor care techniques including buffing and polishing
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks and basic repair skills
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety standards
- Excellent time management skills to complete daily duties efficiently
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to company protocols
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
This role is essential for maintaining a professional environment that promotes safety, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction. Candidates with prior porter or maintenance experience are encouraged to apply.
