NOW HIRING: HOUSE MANAGER

The Argyle Theatre in Babylon Village is currently looking to fill a House Manager position. We are seeking an individual that possesses the professional attributes that will lead our Front of House staff to success and provide the best live entertainment experience for our patrons. The House Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the theater including, but not limited to:

  • Oversee lobby, house and other theater areas prior to, during and immediately following performances
  • Supporting and communicating with front of house staff to provide engaging customer service
  • Aid in keeping the lobby, bathrooms and other public spaces tidy and presentable.
  • Manage the ushers and assign usher duties (ticket scanning, program distribution, etc).
  • Coordinate Playbill stuffing as necessary.
  • Assist in solving any audience issues and complaints.
  • Working closely with the Box Officer Manager to troubleshoot ticketing and customer service issues
  • Work with GM of Theatrical Productions and Stage Manger to coordinate opening and closing the house.
  • Understand and follow Suffolk County Department of Health procedures, including passing a Suffolk County Food Handlers Certification (paid for by company)
  • Appropriately communicate any building and facilities issues to the General Manager, GM of Theatrical of Production and/or Ownership
  • Assisting with special projects as needed

The House Manager supports the audience experience and is an integral part of introducing and maintaining the culture of The Argyle Theatre for the theatre's Season Ticket holders, general audience, and visitors. The House Manager is responsible for the safety of the public, ensuring a comfortable environment for audiences to enjoy the venue and its programming. Collaborating with our Box Office Representatives, volunteers, and other Front of House personnel, the House Manager will ensure the Front of House runs efficiently.

Applicants must be able to work Nights, Weekends & Holidays. Flexible availability is a must.

Compensation - $20 - $23 per hour (based on experience level)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $23.00 per hour
