Sr. Test Technician

The Senior Test Technician will provide high-level direct support to Doble Customers and clients worldwide perform testing, trouble shooting, calibration and repair in house on a variety of Doble test equipment. The successful candidate will be a highly organized, self-directed individual with elite electronic technician skills and experience. The Senior Test Technician will also be responsible for mentoring other test technicians and report findings cross functionally to route cause and correct issues found. This position is located in our Marlborough, MA office reporting to our Test Technician Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Test/calibrate new production Doble test equipment
- Calibrate, upgrade, test, and repair both customer-owned and Doble-leased test equipment
- Record all test data and failure information in the production database
- Assist customers/client with technical telephone support including remote troubleshoot of systems in the field
- Provide full in-house repair, test, hardware and software upgrades, and calibration services on Doble test equipment
- Fulfill customer sales orders as required
- Make recommendations to improve quality or production test methods and processes
- Use analog & digital troubleshooting techniques and equipment to troubleshoot to board or sub- assembly level
- Train and mentor less senior test technicians
- Root cause and correct issues cross functionally by reporting through Jira
- Process work orders through the CRM/ERP systems to completion
As a Senior Test Technician at Doble this individual will be providing a high level of technical service to our valued customers. You will be required to make technical and quality-related decisions on a daily basis. This individual will be the go-to person for specific Doble products; will communicate regularly with our customers/client and be the face of Doble for these important interactions.
QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION:
High School, or some College (Associates Degree in Electronic/Electrical), or Electronic Technician Certificate
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:- At least 5 years of experience as an electronic technician with a proven track record in troubleshooting and supporting electrical and mechanical aspects of highly customized, modular instruments and
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and root cause Doble equipment
- Complete understanding of Doble processes and systems
- Experience in training and mentoring other technicians
- Experience with electronic test equipment, oscilloscope, DVM, frequency counters, etc
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to proactively communicate status & issues to internal and external customers
- Ability to meet critical deadlines while managing multiple priorities
- Must thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced team environment
- Primary point of contact for at least one Doble product line
- Excellent written and oral communications skill
- Exceptional problem solving and debugging skills
- Able to perform component level repairs
- Ability to interpret detailed drawings, schematics, and diagrams
While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers and customers. Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Hourly Pay Range Minimum $ Midpoint $45.07
