Facilities Manager – Job Description
Forest Lake Country Club | Full-Time | $75,000–$80,000
Forest Lake Country Club is seeking a skilled and dependable Facilities Manager to ensure cleanliness, safety, and efficient operation of all club buildings and grounds. This key leadership role oversees all facilities-related functions, including routine inspections, maintenance planning, contractor coordination, recordkeeping, and the supervision of maintenance and housekeeping staff. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities, and extensive knowledge of facility management processes.
Objectives of this Role
- Ensure all facilities adhere to proper safety, sanitation, and cleaning standards
- Maintain equipment and building systems in compliance with health and safety requirements
- Plan and organize building improvements, installations, and refurbishments
- Supervise facilities personnel and coordinate with third-party vendors and contractors
- Maintain full code compliance and accurately follow established maintenance protocols
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a flexible schedule, with most shifts in the mornings and alternating weekends
- Delegate daily cleaning and maintenance tasks to team members
- Ensure a structurally safe, exceptionally clean, and well-maintained environment for members and staff
- Attend management meetings to provide project updates, review requests, and recommend future improvements
- Monitor interior and exterior areas for cleanliness, upkeep, and conservation
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise maintenance and housekeeping employees
- Assign workloads and manage work orders for all club buildings and equipment
- Coordinate with the purchasing department to acquire necessary parts, materials, and supplies
- Prepare and monitor department budgets, implementing corrective actions when needed
- Oversee daily pool water checks and pool facility maintenance
- Maintain key control systems
- Work with planners and assist with remodeling or renovation of club areas
- Manage energy usage programs for HVAC and lighting systems
- Assist in fire protection system checks and staff training
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, elevators, and structures
- Maintain detailed logs for equipment repairs and service
- Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies (health, safety, and building departments)
- Recommend cost-saving approaches for maintenance and engineering operations
- Conduct periodic inspections of all engineering-related areas
- Coordinate and supervise outside contractors
- Assist in planning long- and short-term maintenance needs and capital improvements
- Respond to maintenance requests from managers and employees
- Develop and monitor facility maintenance checklists
- Maintain adequate inventory of maintenance materials and supplies
- Ensure OSHA compliance and maintain MSDS documentation
- Attend staff and departmental meetings
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and general building systems
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities
- Basic understanding of finance and accounting principles
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or equivalent
- Experience developing and managing facility budgets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional leadership or supervisory experience
- High attention to detail
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $75,000–$80,000 per year
