Driver Safety Manager

zTrip is seeking a detail-oriented and approachable Safety Manager to support our driver safety and training program. This role focuses on coaching drivers to improve safe driving habits, onboarding new hires, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Using advanced camera systems such as Samsara or Lytx, you will review driver performance, provide constructive feedback, and help build a culture of safety across the fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily driver activity through camera and telematics platforms (Samsara, Lytx, etc.).
  • Conduct one-on-one driver coaching sessions to correct unsafe behaviors.
  • Assist with new driver training and safety onboarding.
  • Review Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) and background checks to ensure driver qualifications.
  • Track safety violations, incidents, and training completion records.
  • Support accident investigations and recommend corrective action steps.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Safety on new initiatives to reduce collisions and improve fleet safety.
  • Promote positive reinforcement programs and creative ideas to encourage safe driving.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in driver training, fleet operations, or transportation safety preferred.
  • Familiarity with telematics or driver monitoring systems (Samsara, Lytx, Nauto, etc.) a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coach drivers constructively.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling sensitive information.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
