About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team in Raleigh, NC. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining the general ledger. Your attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines will be crucial in this role. You will work closely with other members of the Finance team to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable
  • Proficiency in accounting software
  • Knowledge of general accepted accounting standards and federal grant requirements / regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Accounting or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in Accounts Payable
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of general accepted accounting standards and federal grant requirements / regulations

Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices and ensure timely and accurate payment
  • Reconcile accounts and maintain the general ledger
  • Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve any issues
  • Assist with month-end close and journal entries
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
