Position Summary

The Shipping, Receiving, & Assembly (SRA) Assistant supports daily operations in the warehouse by performing tasks related to the receipt, inspection, storage, and shipment of materials and products. This role ensures all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately, on time, and in accordance with company policies and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage. Verify contents against packing slips, purchase orders, or invoices.
  • Accurately document and record all received items in the inventory system.
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring correct labeling, documentation, and carrier compliance.
  • Coordinate with freight carriers and schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Maintain organized records of all shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment as needed.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) safely and efficiently.
  • Stage raw material in preparation of machining.
  • Ensure the shipping/receiving area remains clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Communicate any shipping errors, damages, or delays to appropriate staff.
  • Support other warehouse or logistics duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse support role
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., Excel, inventory systems)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)

Preferred

  • Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems (e.g., JobBOSS)
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Familiarity with shipping carriers and procedures (UPS, FedEx, LTL freight)

Work Environment

  • Warehouse/industrial environment
  • May involve exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
