Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service in a retail environment, particularly within a grocery store setting. This role involves engaging with customers, assisting with their inquiries, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. The Customer Service Associate will also be responsible for handling transactions and maintaining the overall presentation of the store.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with their needs.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for processing transactions.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math skills.
  • Conduct product demonstrations to enhance customer understanding and engagement.
  • Assist in merchandising and stocking shelves to ensure products are readily available.
  • Upsell products when appropriate to enhance the customer shopping experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and store displays.
  • Supervise junior staff members as needed, providing guidance and support.
  • Exhibit excellent phone etiquette when addressing customer inquiries over the phone.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members to foster a positive environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
  • Familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to better serve our diverse customer base.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.
  • Experience with merchandising, stocking, and product demos is advantageous.
  • Basic math skills are required for cash handling and retail math tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn are key attributes we seek in candidates.
