Position Overview:

The Driver Manager (DM) plays a key role in daily operations by coordinating load planning and managing transportation assignments for a core group of drivers. This position ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operations while supporting strong driver relationships and maintaining open communication with customers, shippers, and consignees.

This position can be based out of our Oak Creek, WI headquarters or our Mosinee, WI terminal.

What You'll Do:

  • Assign and manage loads for a designated group of drivers, ensuring all details are accurate and within driver qualifications.
  • Coordinate directly with shippers and consignees to schedule on-time pickups and deliveries.
  • Monitor progress of each load, proactively resolving issues and communicating updates.
  • Review load details, permits, and dimensions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to ensure positive customer relationships and timely updates.
  • Support drivers with trip planning, equipment updates, and hours-of-service compliance.
  • Conduct regular driver meetings to maintain strong communication and reinforce company policies.
  • Manage driver time-off requests, performance coaching, and incident reporting as needed.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and uphold Transport National's mission, vision, and values.

What We're Looking For:

  • 1+ year of experience in an office or dispatch/scheduling role (transportation experience a plus).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and support a diverse driver team.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and accountable.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps and trip routes.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday (daytime hours)
  • Occasional after-hours/weekend support may be required as part of team rotation
  • Full-time, in-office position located at either Oak Creek or Mosinee terminal
