As an Associate Claims Technician, you will provide basic functional and operational support for the claims department including maintaining claim records through data entry and validation. You will support claim task completion by printing and/or assembling claim documents for mailing and preparing claims records, forms, and materials in response to various requests. You will review and analyze reporting errors and make necessary corrections. You will work with customers, suppliers, attorneys, body shops, medical providers, and claims staff to help answer questions and resolve issues.

What You'll Do

  • Provide support in maintaining claim files, including updating claim coding, financial, and other data elements, preparing a variety of claims forms and materials, and ordering police reports. Review and audit reports associated with claim file activity for documentation and accuracy. Enter/update data as necessary.

  • Assist with basic claim referrals to various claims suppliers, including telephonic and field case managers, medical canvases, and surveillance requests. Complete simple forms when required.

  • Compile and review claim records and materials in response to requests, including subpoenas, Medicare requests, and medical exchanges.

  • Assemble, print, and review claim documents and checks in preparation for mailing and/or in response to various claims requests. Complete cover sheets, mailing labels, and package documents for mailing.

  • Upload various documents to electronic claim files. Monitor electronic mailboxes and route mail to appropriate claims staff.

  • Provide clerical support to claims staff, which may include providing telephone coverage for the toll-free line, photocopying documents, and ordering supplies.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of jurisdictional requirements and best practices within assigned department ensuring all tasks and edits are completed effectively and in compliance.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time

What it Takes

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience

  • Customer Service experience preferred
