IMEG Corp. is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team We are currently seeking a Project Engineer in our Vancouver, WA office. As a Project Engineer you will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff for the delivery of larger and high complexity projects. They will be responsible for working closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure position outcomes. Primary responsibility will include engineering analysis, design and implementation oversight of structural systems for buildings and other structures. This position will be expected to work within the projects monetary budget, train, mentor and collaborate with cross functional teams to meet project goals and expectations.
Some key duties and responsibilities include:
- Lead design efforts for the analysis and design of structural systems; Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards;
- Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication;
- Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects; Lead efforts in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives; Document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress as related to percent complete and fee expended;
- Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions; Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions;
- Provide in-process design reviews of structural system design, calculations, and specifications; Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements;
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in structural engineering; Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG;
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work;
- Conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner;
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals;
- Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager;
- Oversee projects through full life cycle from conception through construction by developing designs, construction documents and participating in construction administration duties. Duties include reviewing construction submittals, requests for information (RFI's) and participating in job site observations.
Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:
- Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications;
- Strong technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in mechanics and materials, load paths, design techniques, design standards including steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and concepts involved in structural systems of buildings and structures;
- Strong training and mentoring skills;
- Proficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools including structural engineering design and analysis software;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and demonstrate effective team building skills;
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
- Eagerness to adapt to new challenges;;
- Proficiency in the use of BIM software
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook;
- Ability to travel up to 15% with occasional overnight stays.
Education and experience requirements are:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required;
- Master's Degree (MS) in Structural Engineering preferred;
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required;
- 5 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in the building design consulting industry;
- This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Salary Range: $92,000 - $123,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options. In addition, IMEG Corp. provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
