Overview

The Executive Director is the strategic and operational leader of Girls Spark. We are looking for this Executive Director to foster innovative initiatives. This role oversees the organization's day-to-day administration, supports program growth, manages school clubs, coordinates communication between boards, and ensures that all organizational activities align with Girls Spark's mission. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will inspire teams, cultivate partnerships, and propel our organization toward sustainable growth and impactful community engagement. Work Environment

Hybrid role with remote work, in-person meetings, workshops, and events. Occasional evenings and weekends are required based on program and event schedules.

Responsibilities

  1. Leadership, Strategy & Governance

  2. Partner with the Board of Directors to execute strategic plans, annual goals, and key organizational initiatives.

  3. Act as the central liaison between the Teen Leadership Board, Adult Board, volunteers, advisors, and external partners.
  4. Provide timely reporting to the Board, including program data, club activity, workshop outcomes, and operational metrics
  5. Representing Girls Spark in meetings with schools, community partners, and external stakeholders

  6. Clubs & Program Management

  7. Manage all Girls Spark school clubs across PA/DE/NJ, serving as the main point of contact for club advisors and school administrators.

  8. Oversee logistics for virtual, hybrid, and in-person workshops, ensuring consistency in program delivery.
  9. Maintain updated guides, templates, and processes to ensure high-quality program implementation.
  10. Collaborate with the Teen Board leadership team to align Teen Board initiatives with Girls Spark programming, without directly supervising Teen Board operations.
  11. Provide data, materials, or support to the Teen Board leadership team as needed for their independently managed activities

  12. Operations & Administration

  13. Lead the organization's day-to-day operations, including scheduling, document management, communications, and administrative coordination.

  14. Oversee the use and maintenance of operational systems including GiveSmart, Constant Contact, Google Workspace, and other platforms.
  15. Support the upcoming transition to Microsoft Suite, ensuring that file structure, communication channels, and workflows are properly organized and accessible.
  16. Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers and part-time contractors as needed.
  17. Manage administrative processes, SOP development, documentation, and organizational efficiency initiatives.
  18. Work closely with the Treasurer on budgeting, expense management, financial tracking, and compliance.

  19. Fundraising, Grants & Development Support

  20. Provide program data, impact metrics, and written materials needed for board-led fundraising and sponsorship outreach.

  21. Support annual fundraising campaigns (e.g., Giving Tuesday, online campaign community fundraising) through coordination and platform management.
  22. Prepare program proposals or outlines for revenue-generating school partnerships when requested.
  23. Assist with event logistics and communication for board-led fundraising events.

  24. Marketing, Communications & Outreach

  25. Prepare and coordinate newsletters, announcements, and outreach communications using Constant Contact and other tools.

  26. Support social media content development and scheduling in collaboration with volunteers or board members.
  27. Maintain Girls Spark's online presence, including website updates, Google
  28. Business profile, and GuideStar/Charity Navigator documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (education, nonprofit management, communications, social sciences, or related field).
  • 3+ years of leadership or program management experience; nonprofit or youth-serving experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing programs, coordinating logistics, or working with youth is strongly valued.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with diverse groups.
  • Competency with digital platforms; experience with Google Workspace and MS Office, fundraising/communication tools required.
  • Genuine passion for empowering teen girls and supporting mental-wellbeing initiatives.
