What You'll Do
As an HVAC Technician at KVK Tech, you will perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems that support both administrative and manufacturing/utility areas. You'll troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, support environmental control systems within a regulated facility, and ensure continuous reliability of HVAC and climate control systems under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, and building automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components of chillers, air handlers, rooftop units, split systems, boilers, and process cooling loops.
- Inspect and calibrate sensors, thermostats, actuators, and control valves for accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor and document system pressures, temperatures, and performance data to maintain validated environmental parameters.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Building Management Systems (BMS) such as Honeywell, Siemens, or Johnson Controls.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment manuals to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Support installation, startup, and commissioning of new HVAC and utility systems.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in compliance with cGMP and internal standards.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Facilities, and Quality Assurance on change control, validation, and facility modifications.
- Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, and OSHA safety requirements at all times.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior maintenance personnel and contractors as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness, order, and compliance in all mechanical areas and equipment rooms.
What We're Looking For
Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in commercial or industrial HVAC maintenance and repair. Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or other FDA-regulated environment is strongly preferred.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited vocational or technical training program in HVAC, Refrigeration, or Mechanical Systems required.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Expertise in HVAC diagnostics, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
- Proficiency with chillers, boilers, AHUs, VAVs, exhaust systems, and process cooling systems.
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS) platforms.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, control diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Strong understanding of industrial power and controls (120/208/480V).
- Proficiency with CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and maintain high documentation standards.
- Flexibility to support rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage as required.
Certifications & Licenses:
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required.
- NATE Certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
