Overview
The Biomedical Engineering Support Specialist will be responsible for supporting the needs of the Biomedical Engineering team through collecting, processing, and managing biomedical engineering data. This pivotal role bridges the gap between the data and meaningful insights, supporting medical equipment decisions by ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards. The specialist will work closely with biomedical engineers, clinicians, operations and regulatory professionals to ensure that the data supports the organization clinical, financial and operational goals.
Qualifications
Education: Associate's Degree: Information Technology or Computer and Information Science or Health Administration or Experience In Lieu of Education
Work Experience: Data analysis 5+ years and Data entry 5+ years
Responsibilities
Accurately enter or attached biomedical medical equipment information into inventory database systems. This includes transcribing and integrating data from paper documents, electronic scans and other data sources.Review data entries for errors, inconsistencies, and missing information. Perform periodic quality audits and reconcile discrepancies by cross-referencing source materials, working with engineers and clinicians as needed.Maintain organized and secure electronic and physical records. Ensure all data is backed up, archived, and accessible according to organizational, industry, and regulatory standards.Generate and distribute reports, presentations and documentation for stakeholders, regulatory agencies and accreditation reviews.Monitor and manage equipment recall notifications and coordinate follow-up actions.Support data analysis of equipment for potential replacement, based on service history, recalls and usage data.Assist with audits, risk assessments and implementation of corrective actions and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and internal quality standards.Contribute to the development and documentation of best practices for data entry, management, and quality assurance. Recommend process improvements to enhance data accuracy and workflow efficiency.Oversee and validate the accuracy of the medical equipment database. Collaborate with team members in the Biomedical Engineering department and Operational areas to gather and validate data.

Compensation And Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $29.29per hour - $50.38per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
