This role is ideal for a commercially minded credit professional seeking to deepen underwriting skills, expand decision making capabilities, and grow within a disciplined, relationship-driven credit culture.

  • Prepare and analyze commercial credit submissions for prospective and existing clients, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal credit policies
  • Conduct financial analysis and spreading of financial statements, tax returns, debt reports and related documents/disclosures to assess creditworthiness and cash-flow sustainability
  • Evaluate collateral and asset risk in equipment finance transactions, including residual value considerations (after RV approvals from Asset Management department) where applicable
  • Run and interpret credit bureau, OFAC/AML, and compliance checks
  • Independently underwrite and approve transactions within assigned authority limits ("application-only" parameters and credit write ups)
  • Partner closely with Internal Sales, Sales, Operations, Collections and Portfolio Management to support timely deal execution and sound credit outcomes
  • Communicate credit decisions clearly and professionally to internal stakeholders, balancing risk discipline with commercial objectives
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of credit processes, documentation standards, and turnaround times
  • Support audits, portfolio reviews, and internal reporting as required
  • Occasional travel (up to 10%) for business or training purposes

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis, underwriting, or equipment finance

  • Solid understanding of financial statement analysis, cash-flow lending concepts, and credit risk fundamentals
  • Experience reviewing business and personal financials, tax returns, and credit reports
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple transactions in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate credit rationale clearly
  • High level of attention to detail, ownership, and professional judgment
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the MS Office Suite (financial spreading and analysis)

  • Experience in equipment finance, leasing, or asset-based lending

  • Prior exposure to middle-market or structured commercial transactions
  • Familiarity with credit approval matrix and delegated authority frameworks
  • Experience working in a bank, captive, or independent leasing platform

  • Hybrid work model (2–3 days per week in the Chicago office)
