Vivacity Tech is looking for an Assistant Controller to play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization through accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and efficient accounting operations. This position prepares internal and external financial reports, manages audits, and drives continuous improvement within the finance function. The Assistant Controller is detail-oriented and collaborative with experience leading accounting teams in a dynamic environment.

This position is in Greenville, SC. This position is NOT remote.

While no day will be completely the same, your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Coordinate annual audits and regulatory reviews, ensuring complete and accurate documentation
  • Support the CFO and collaborate with the FP&A team in preparing internal reports, financial forecasts, and variance analysis
  • Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Supervise accounts payable and receivable team, and manage payroll accounting, and fixed assets
  • Support external advisors in preparation of property, sales & use tax and income tax
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure the financial close process is performed effectively
  • Implement, maintain and document strong internal controls to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance
  • Evaluate current accounting operations and drive process improvements and automation
  • Support implementation and maintenance of ERP systems and other financial tools
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff
  • Facilitate team development through coaching, feedback, and performance reviews
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, HR, and IT teams on finance-related initiatives

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Expert technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and assist and train others
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Extremely proficient with Google Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software
  • Ability to work independently

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA a plus
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity
  • Public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm) or audit experience preferred
  • Industry experience is a plus
