Position Summary
The Parent Liaison serves as the school liaison between parents, teachers, and administrators to implement and manage school-wide initiatives and activities to eliminate barriers to education and encourage parents to become positive active participants in their children's education.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze student attendance to identify resources to increase performance.
Monitor and track student progress, and adjust support strategies as needed.
Coordinates learning opportunities/workshops for parents at flexible times.
Provides information to parents that include educational opportunities and resources in their areas and applicable local and state policies that will influence their education.
Collaborate with community agencies and resources to provide additional support and resources for students and families.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in student support.
Attend and participate in team meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events as necessary.
Provide reports to school administration and district leaders on parent support services and outcomes.
Assists the school with gathering data regarding student academic progress and teacher support.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the school administration.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in education or related field preferred
Experience working with elementary school-age children in an educational or counseling setting.
Knowledge of family support services and best practices in family support
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community partners
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of work
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances
