Duties

• Operate heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and many more to make operations smooth.
• Load and unload trucks, containers, and storage areas.
• Sort, categorize, and organize scrap metal and other recyclable items for processing or shipment
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and yard areas to ensure safety compliance and proper functioning
• Collaborate with supervisors on daily tasks, including construction-related activities if applicable

Skills

• Proven experience in construction and junk yard environments
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation including cranes, forklifts, clamp trucks, dump trucks, skid steer, gradall, tow trucks, and pallet jacks
• Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting basic equipment issues
• Skilled in heavy lifting, materials handling, and load & unload procedures
• Prior supervisor experience is a plus for leadership potential
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in sorting scrap materials
• Knowledge of construction or junk yard operations is advantageous
