Whether assisting with taking orders by phone, in-person, or online, deliveries, and some floral arrangements or projects depending on level of expertise, you'll play a key role in helping customers find the perfect solutions while maintaining a well-organized store environment. This paid position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills in flower arranging, retail, and customer service. Individuals who are motivated to learn and grow into a potential management role are desired.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting floral arrangements, plants, and gifts by providing knowledgeable advice and friendly service
- Manage stock levels by stocking shelves, organizing merchandise displays, and ensuring products are well-presented to maximize sales opportunities
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately for cash handling, transactions, and order processing while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Handle cashiering duties including processing payments, issuing receipts, and balancing cash registers at the end of shifts
- Contribute to merchandising efforts by setting up attractive displays that highlight seasonal items and promote sales
- Support e-commerce activities by preparing online orders for pickup or delivery.
- Maintain organizational efficiency through inventory management, stock replenishment, and keeping the store tidy and welcoming
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers to ensure clear understanding and excellent service
- Assist with floral design projects or horticultural tasks to enhance the aesthetic appeal of our offerings, if applicable.
Requirements
- Previous experience or interest in floristry or horticulture is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic retail math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
- Ability to stand, walk, lift moderate weights (such as plants or supplies), and perform physical tasks associated with gardening and stocking duties
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with floral design or merchandising is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific technical skills
- Reliable team player who demonstrates initiative and attention to detail
