Responsible for the design, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of instrument/electrical and automation control systems. Focus is on mathematical modelling of systems of a diverse nature, analyzing their dynamic behavior, and using control theory to create a controller that will cause the systems to behave in a desired manner. May specialize in the design, configuration, and automation of systems.
This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.
The Principal, Automation & Control Engineering (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for leading technical projects related to the design, development, and maintenance of instrument/electrical and automation control systems. You will apply mathematical modeling, analyze dynamic behavior, and use control theory to ensure optimal system performance. Specifics include:
• Lead technical projects involving the design, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of instrument/electrical and automation control systems

• Make operational decisions that directly impact project performance and innovation
• Stay updated with advances in system design, configuration, and automation
• Adhere to GxP regulations by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining accurate documentation
• Ensure rigorous quality control, complete all required training, and commit to continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements
