Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier/Front of the House team member to join our dynamic food service environment. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, handling transactions accurately, and supporting daily restaurant operations. Ideal candidates will have a passion for food industry service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. Prior experience in food preparation, POS systems, or restaurant environments is a plus. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in food handling, sales, and customer engagement within a vibrant café or quick service restaurant setting.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit
  • Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and payments
  • Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform accurate cash handling procedures
  • Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
  • Upsell menu items and promote specials to maximize sales opportunities
  • Maintain cleanliness of the front counter, dining area, and service stations in accordance with sanitation standards
  • Support food safety protocols including proper food handling and sanitation practices
  • Assist with bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and supporting kitchen staff when necessary
  • Manage time efficiently during busy periods to ensure prompt service delivery
  • Follow all safety guidelines related to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations

Skills

  • Proven experience in food service, cashiering, or retail environments; experience in quick service & fast food restaurants is preferred
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and handle diverse customer needs
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, sales transactions, and retail math calculations
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
  • Knowledge of food preparation, food safety standards, and sanitation practices within the food industry
  • Experience with upselling menu items and promoting sales through friendly engagement
  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours while maintaining quality standards
  • Previous experience in a café or restaurant environment is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn is essential
