Hospital Services Corporation (HSC) provides essential support services to hospitals, clinics, and healthcare organizations across the region. The Systems & Security Analyst will oversee and ensure stability, security, protection, and access to the Company's systems and data, directly supporting staff and protecting sensitive healthcare data. This role blends hands-on technical support with foundational cybersecurity oversight to maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, particularly HIPAA, while enabling smooth daily operations.
This position will also assist the Security Product Engineer in providing product security consultation to customers in the healthcare industry. Assist with reviewing and assessing customer security procedures, policies, plans, and controls related to incident response during containment to ensure best practice authorized documentation and tools are in place in preparation.
SKILLS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with both technical vendors and non-technical staff. Exceptional understanding of confidentiality and crisis handling. Self-motivated, organized, and capable of handling multiple priorities. Must be flexible and willing to adapt to rapidly growing environment. Strong troubleshooting skills and initiative to work problems, in a high-trust environment, to completion according to the standards and practices set by the Technology Operations team.
EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor's in computer science or relevant undergraduate and 3-5 years of IT support with 1-2 years being focused on Cybersecurity Operations. Industry recognized cybersecurity certifications preferred like Ethical Hacker, CompTIA A+, CISSP, AWS, Splunk, Microsoft 365, and compliance framework. Produce original content regarding new threats, techniques, and information for internal and external consumption.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilize working knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, anti-malware agents, and security logging/tracing.
- Ensures proper computer and network access for system users; assigns passwords and user IDs to new users across Microsoft 365, applications, and internal systems.
- Monitor system performance and conduct routine maintenance (patching, updates, backups).
- Monitor Malware detection software and respond to security issues. Utilize malware and attack techniques (e.g. code injection, DGA, hooks, etc.).
- Coordinate special IT security initiatives and projects, as required.
- Monitor system usage to confirm that employees have the proper level of information access.
- Analyze user-reported security matters: suspicious emails, unusual login activity, etc. Communicate with users to gather details and/or explain the threat.
- Oversee and respond to client inquiries and requests in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
- Assist with Asset Management and IT equipment inventory.
- Assist Product Security consultant/architect to provide product security consultation to healthcare customers.
- Work with the software development team for any maintenance or security requirements.
- Document and manage incident cases in our case management solution.
- Assist with security education and ad hoc training and periodic informational emails and intranet posts.
- Oversees backup of company information, as needed, and in case of a disaster or data loss.
- Ensure security software is installed and updated on all company assets as well as any devices connected to company network.
- Assist with policy and procedure documentation and updates.
- Assists with conducting information systems audits to ensure system information is secure from breach and unauthorized access.
- Troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair of Windows PCs, peripherals, network equipment, tablets, servers, various software products including Microsoft Office, point of sale systems, cabling, credit card terminals, etc.
- Ensure proper recording and documentation of installation, troubleshooting, repair, and other processes.
- Provide over the phone, on-site, and in-office end-user technical support.
- Conducts offsite audits to assess the efficiency and efficacy of data recovery programs.
- Assist in planning and conducting user training to provide overviews of systems security, including phishing, safe computing, and data handling policies.
- Achieve and maintain IT security-related certifications.
- Assist with other IT projects as directed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70, $80,000.00 per year
