Remote, Oregon, United States Alliance Technical Group Full time
Alliance Technical Group is a premier partner in environmental solutions, is looking for a proactive, analytical, and hands-on Product Manager to help shape and deliver our next generation of environmental compliance and monitoring software. You'll serve as the connective tissue between customers, business stakeholders, and engineering — translating complex requirements into clear product direction that drives measurable outcomes.
Success in this role means mastering both the strategic and tactical sides of product management: discovering customer problems worth solving, defining what "good" looks like, and working relentlessly with cross-functional teams to deliver it.
Essential Functions
  • Translate company strategy and customer problems into a prioritized backlog of AI and automation use cases.
  • Own the roadmap for AI-enabled features and workflows for assigned products or domains.
  • Define clear problem statements, outcomes, and success metrics for AI initiatives (quality, adoption, cost, and risk).
  • Partner closely with the AI Dev Manager and AI Developers to design feasible, safe, and scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and customers to map current manual workflows and define what "good" looks like when automated or AI-assisted.
  • Drive iterative discovery: run experiments, pilots, and proof-of-concepts to validate value before scaling.
  • Gather and synthesize feedback from customers, field teams, and analytics to refine AI features and workflows over time.
  • Ensure Go-To-Market readiness for AI features, including internal education, positioning, and release communications.
  • Define and monitor telemetry and evaluation frameworks for AI features (e.g., satisfaction scores, error rates, human override rates).
  • Champion responsible and transparent AI usage, including clear UX patterns for confidence, limitations, and escalation to human review.
  • Communicate trade-offs, risks, and progress clearly to stakeholders, including executives and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in software or SaaS product management, preferably in B2B environments.
  • Hands-on experience delivering data-powered or AI/ML-enabled features from discovery through launch.
  • Proven ability to translate complex workflows and regulations into simple, intuitive product experiences.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and partnering closely with engineering, data, and UX.
  • Comfortable defining and interpreting product metrics, experiments, and basic statistical concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to move seamlessly between executive, technical, and customer conversations.
  • Experience in environmental, compliance, industrial, or operational SaaS is strongly preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong product discovery skills, including customer interviews, problem framing, and hypothesis-driven testing.
  • Working understanding of modern AI concepts such as LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), guardrails, and agentic workflows (no hands-on coding required).
  • Ability to think in systems and end-to-end workflows, not just individual features.
  • High level of ownership, urgency, and bias for action; comfortable making decisions with imperfect information.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and bring structure to ambiguity.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence without formal authority.
Compensation
Salary starting at $135k/annually, DOE
Key Benefits Include:
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • 401(K) Plan with Competitive Match
  • Continuing Education and Tuition Assistance
  • Employer-Sponsored Disability Benefits
  • Life Insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Holidays, & Bonus Floating Holiday (if hired before July 1st)
  • Profit Sharing or Individual Bonus Programs
  • Referral Program
  • Per Diem & Paid Travel
  • Employee Discount Hub
Work Environment
This is a fast-paced, execution-oriented role within a growing software organization. You'll collaborate daily with development, QA, and operations while also engaging customers and stakeholders. Travel may be required for user research, customer visits, and industry events. We value product leaders who combine curiosity, clarity, and execution discipline — and who are energized by building AI capabilities that solve real problems, not just showcase technology.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands to finger is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force is rare. While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, and copiers is needed. The employee is occasionally required to stand. Exposure to extreme environmental conditions or industrial hazards is not applicable.
Travel
Our customer base is spread across the US. This position would be expected to travel as needed to develop industry knowledge and insight by working with customers to understand their needs and problems. The position would also be a key player in tradeshows and customer events we host to engage and learn from our customers.
Other Duties
Please note this job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position. It is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive list of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications. Additional job-related duties may be assigned. Alliance reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet business and organizational needs as necessary with or without notice.
