We're hiring a charismatic, experienced HVAC Instructor to teach live, remote cohorts across U.S. time zones and mentor the next generation of helpers and technicians. This starts as a contract role with a clear path to part- or full-time employment as the program scales.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, live online instruction covering HVAC basics (Electrical theory, Refrigeration cycle) and how these relate to modern residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC systems.
  • Teach safety, proper selection and use of common HVAC tools; explain real-world applications and jobsite expectations.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for students from diverse backgrounds, reinforcing and teaching professionalism, reliability, and communication.
  • Break down complex topics into clear, step-by-step lessons; facilitate Q&A and interactive exercises.
  • Provide feedback on coursework, hold office hours, track learner progress, and uphold safety/compliance standards.
  • Collaborate on curriculum improvements, quizzes, and simulations/lab alternatives appropriate for remote learning.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HVAC teaching/instruction (trade school, apprenticeship, union/non-union training, employer training, or equivalent).
  • 5+ years of hands-on HVAC field experience (residential, commercial, or industrial).
  • Must have EPA 608 Universal certification, Journeyman's License; experience teaching OSHA-10/30 concepts; familiarity with NATE, ESCO.
  • Demonstrated success teaching remotely (Zoom/Meet, LMS, digital whiteboards); strong presentation and classroom-management skills.
  • Deep foundational knowledge of HVAC systems, safety, troubleshooting, and tools.
  • Professional communication, reliability, and a learner-first mindset; eligible to work in the U.S. with a stable remote setup.
  • Prior work with apprentices and early-career learners
