Job Type: Full-time - 40 hours per week with paid overtime.
Location: Remote. This position requires California residency.
Salary: $100,000-$120,000 (salary varies based on your skill level and experience)

As a Civil Project Engineer at JMA, you'll be at the forefront of transforming California's transportation landscape. This role is deeply rooted in transportation design—covering alignments, profiles, grading, drainage, utility coordination, and preparation of PA&ED and PS&E packages.
Ideal candidates will have a strong background in civil transportation engineering, with hands-on experience using design software such as Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn as you deliver significant transportation projects as part of a tight-knit team.

Who You Are
- ·EIT Certification: You currently have an EIT certification and are advancing to obtain your Professional Engineering License.
- Experienced Leader: 2+ years in civil design and project management, with a focus on transportation and site development projects.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Bentley OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Problem Solver: Strong analytical and organizational skills to tackle complex challenges in engineering.
- Natural Learner: You are eager to expand your Engineering skills and advance within the company.
- Remote Work Ready: Disciplined and self-motivated to succeed.
What You'll Do & Learn
- Transportation & Rail Design: Design work on railroad and transit facilities, ensuring projects align with JMA's standards of excellence.
- Construction Documents: Support the preparation of detailed construction drawings and specifications.
- Grading & Drainage: Develop accurate grading and drainage designs tailored to each project's needs.
- Utility Systems Design: Size and design systems for storm drain, sanitary sewer, and water infrastructure.
- Stormwater Analysis: Conduct advanced hydrologic and hydraulic analyses following project and jurisdictional requirements.
- Project Management Support: Interface with clients and subconsultants through planning, design and construction, including occasional field visits.
