Tableau Developer- Geospatial Analytics NJ Onsite

About the Role

We are looking for a Data Analytics & Visualization Specialist with strong expertise in Tableau, geospatial analytics, and CARTO. In this role, you will leverage spatial data to build insightful dashboards, interactive maps, and advanced geospatial visualizations that inform business strategy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable smarter decision-making around location, markets, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Visualization & BI
  • Design and develop interactive Tableau dashboards that present KPIs, trends, and spatial insights.
  • Build map-based visualizations and integrate spatial datasets to uncover geographic trends.
  • Optimize dashboards for performance, usability, and storytelling.
  • Geospatial Analytics
  • Conduct spatial data analysis (territory planning, site selection, market expansion, logistics optimization).
  • Integrate and manage geospatial datasets (e.g., shapefiles, geoJSON, lat/long data).
  • Apply GIS and spatial modeling techniques to generate actionable insights.
  • CARTO Integration & Advanced Mapping
  • Develop and maintain CARTO-based geospatial applications and dashboards.
  • Combine Tableau and CARTO outputs to deliver robust spatial analytics solutions.
  • Leverage CARTO for location intelligence, spatial SQL, and advanced geospatial workflows.
  • Collaboration & Delivery
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data-driven visual solutions.
  • Work with data engineers to prepare, clean, and optimize spatial and tabular data.
  • Deliver presentations and insights to business leaders in clear, compelling ways.
  • Best Practices & Governance
  • Establish visualization standards, templates, and storytelling guidelines.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and security in handling spatial and business data.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience with Tableau dashboard design and development.
  • Strong expertise in geospatial analytics, map creation, and GIS concepts.
  • Proficiency with CARTO (spatial SQL, data ingestion, map building, location intelligence).
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and spatial queries.
  • Familiarity with spatial data formats (shapefiles, geoJSON, KML).
  • Strong problem-solving and storytelling ability with data.

referred Skills

  • Experience with Python or R for geospatial analysis and automation.
  • Knowledge of Tableau Prep or ETL pipelines for spatial + business data.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, AWS, Azure).
  • Exposure to advanced spatial statistics or predictive modeling.
