Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. This role is essential in ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for our chefs, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
  • Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in food preparation.
  • Support chefs in cooking and plating dishes during service hours.
  • Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed at all times.
  • Participate in catering events as needed, assisting with meal preparation and serving.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and high-quality food delivery.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
  • Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
  • Background in food service or restaurant environments is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated culinary experience with strong knife skills is required.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
  • Experience in meal preparation and catering services is a plus.
