Vice President of Asset Management

PurposeThe Vice President of Asset Management will lead and oversee all aspects of construction and renovation projects across Athena Hospitality Group's growing portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring each project meets its goals in scope, cost, quality, and schedule, while maintaining our brand standards and commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate is an experienced hospitality construction leader with a strong ability to manage complex projects, teams, and timelines, while navigating the technical aspects of building systems and design.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee multiple new construction and renovation projects from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with budget, timeline, and brand standards.
- Plan and lead pre-construction meetings with internal stakeholders, contractors, and management teams; document and communicate project goals and expectations.
- Review and negotiate contracts, proposals, and scope documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct regular on-site property visits to evaluate progress, safety compliance, and quality standards.
- Manage project scope walks, develop detailed scope documentation, and track approvals.
- Lead punch-list inspections to ensure all work meets brand and ADA standards prior to closeout.
- Maintain adherence to OSHA and regulatory safety standards, ensuring all contractors conduct required safety meetings.
- Collaborate with ownership and operations teams to create follow-up action plans for critical items and ensure successful project turnover.
- Provide technical insight into building systems including MEP, life safety, elevators, and automation systems.
- Assist operations teams in evaluating third-party vendor contracts and capital projects.
- Lead with integrity, organization, and a strong sense of accountability for results and team development.
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred (relevant experience considered in lieu of degree).
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in construction or project management, ideally within hospitality, renovation, or new-build environments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Regular travel required to properties and project sites.
- Ability to use standard office equipment and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, as business needs require.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written) required.
