Behavior Support Coordinator

Summary
Provide oversight and maintain compliance throughout the departments by providing direct consumer support, consultation and training to staff regarding behavior supports. The person in this position will have a working knowledge of behavior modification, behavior support and be responsible for monitoring Behavior Treatment Plan Review Committee (BTPRC) data and training staff in the application of behavior supports and specific requirements pertaining to each. Works closely with the Clinical Service Director (CSD) to analyze data, revise program components based on outcome results and/or fidelity measures and assists in implementing new behavior supports within the departments. Must be able to lead by example, model professionalism, and be a champion for independence, integration, and recovery. Persons with Lived Experience with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities or substance abuse disorders are encouraged to apply.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Function as the agency expert on all behavior supports.
Responsible for the oversight of the BTPRC data pertaining to each behavior support.
Lead the behavior supports process by training and monitoring staff in using effective agency approved methods to utilize behavior supports for the advancement of the consumer's plan of service and recovery.
Maintain a high level of competent staff.
Oversee and produce data reports using standards and criteria established and approved by the CSD and BTPRC.
Responsible for quality and compliance review of behavior supports including monitoring training, clinical documentation and data sheets.
Responsible for assurance of program fidelity for the BTPRC.
Responsible for obtaining and assuring required documentation is available upon request for the BTPRC and auditing entities.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining compliance with agency policy and practice standards, including the training, and monitoring staff work related to behavior supports.
Represent the agency on Community level committees as assigned.
Collaboratively establish outcomes consistent with Agency and contractual obligations and develop monthly reports measuring those outcomes.
Organize and track information required for submission to the BTPRC, auditors, accrediting bodies such as CARF, MDHHS and other contractual agencies.
Achieve and provide leadership and expertise in the program elements directly overseen and cross train staff from other departments to understand and apply methodologies as needed.
Work closely with the CSD to review service needs and plan for future services by making recommendations to the CSD.
Perform and complete assessment appropriate to academic discipline credentials.
Complete the Pre-Plan in preparation of development of the Plan of Service.
Perform and complete reviews/addendums at least every 90 days or as needed.
Complete direct contact with the individuals as specified in the Plan of Service.
Document contact/services, complete billing procedures per policy/procedures.
Provide linkage, coordination, facilitation, monitoring and advocacy.
Work in collaboration with other agency programs, community agencies to serve the needs of the individual as identified in the Plan of Service.
Knowledge of Medicaid Guidelines and Level of Care Guidelines for the individuals served.
Complete direct contact with individuals in diverse community settings.
Ability to work with fellow staff, clients and other agency professionals on an on-going basis.
Assure the maintenance of departmental case records in compliance with Medicaid, State, Regional, agency, and other applicable standards.
Application of creative thinking and analytical skills to assess service needs for the program, formulating recommendations for the organization and other resources to meet those needs.
Travel is required within the service area as well as travel to other assignments within the state.
Demonstrates the ability to present one's self, the agency, and the individuals we serve in a positive manner at all times.
Ability to work with fellow staff, consumers, and other agency professionals on an on-going basis through a team approach.
Supervises staff compliance with applicable Federal, State and agency standards, policies and procedures and keeps the CSD informed of staff compliance and performance.
Participate in emergency services system, if credentialed as such, as on call staff and be available for after-hour duties as needed or requested.
Must be willing to work flexible schedule (i.e. weekends, evenings, nights, etc.) if deemed necessary.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in human services field acceptable to the State of Michigan to perform as a Care Manager
One year experience in the treatment of persons with mental health conditions
