A highly skilled technician who performs complex assembly, calibration, and testing of mechanical or electro-mechanical products using blueprints, diagrams, and other specifications. This role requires significant experience, and involves using a variety of tools to assemble intricate parts, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the final product meets strict quality standards. They often work in a production or factory setting and must maintain accurate records and a clean work area. 

What You Will Do

• Exhibit leadership behavior
• Able to work with no supervision
• Assemble products by reading blueprints and work instructions, including the use of measuring devices (scales, calipers etc.) with minimal supervision
• Perform sheet metal riveting functions using hand tools such as a rivet gun, rivet gun, shaver, rivet squeeze, hand clamps, bucking bars, drill press, pneumatic drill and specialized features to build sub-assemblies
• May track and receive the required parts for product area. May check stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies, parts, and fasteners for the particular run
• Contact material handler or lead if shortages exist or incorrect parts are in bins
• Reworking or repairing units that fail tests or don't meet tolerance levels.  May fill in where needed for area.
• Perform necessary tasks to ensure on-time delivery of the product
• Cross train and work in all areas of assembly operation
• Adhere to all company rules and codes of conduct
• Ensure quality product utilizing UTAS quality procedures
• Look for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace
• Provide continuous improvement ideas in order to support lean and ACE initiatives
• Work under moderate supervision. Determine methods and procedures on new assignments. May be informal team leader.
• Apply semi-advanced skills to complete complex tasks in resourceful and effective ways
• Work on complex tasks requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understand implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions
• Train employees
• Included on interview panels for area
• May perform other job duties as required and available for overtime as necessary
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Strong understanding of quality control systems and standards preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret complex documents like blueprints and engineering drawings strongly preferred.

The salary range for this role is 59,252 USD - 111,131 USD. The salary rate provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills
