Sun Solar is seeking a qualified Customer Financing Specialist to join our amazing accounting team at our headquarters in Springfield, MO. This individual will support our company's solar leasing and customer financing operations by assisting sales through customer credit review and approval, preparing documentation, ensuring compliance with financing and registration requirements, and ensuring documentation is properly submitted to various agencies and financing partners. This role also provides administrative support for customer accounts, financing registrations, and state/federal rebate administration to ensure accurate reporting and coordination with related departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and review customer credit or lease applications, verify documentation, and communicate with customers regarding missing information.
  • Run credit reports, calculate debt-to-income ratios, and prepare files for approval in accordance with company lending guidelines.
  • Prepare and file UCC financing statements and assist with documentation for tax credit and state/federal registrations.
  • Coordinate with AR and accounting teams to ensure accurate posting of lease payments, invoices, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records of lease and financing activity; assist with weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Support preparation of required utility or program documentation (e.g., IL Shines / ILSFA payout submissions).
  • Communicate professionally with customers, sales, and internal teams to resolve application, billing, or documentation questions.
  • Follow established company procedures to ensure compliance and timely processing of all customer financing activities.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting, or customer service.
  • 1–3 years of experience in lending, leasing, or accounting support.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ability to learn CRM and financing systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience in consumer financing is preferred.
