Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Stocker / Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced grocery store environment. This role is essential for ensuring that our shelves are well-stocked and organized while providing exceptional customer service at the checkout. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently stock shelves with products, ensuring proper rotation and presentation.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing customer transactions accurately.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with inquiries and product information.
  • Demonstrate products to customers to enhance their shopping experience and encourage sales.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including merchandising displays.
  • Handle cash transactions with accuracy, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Upsell products when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
  • Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support in daily tasks.
  • Utilize retail math skills to manage inventory levels effectively and assist in stock management.

Experience

  • Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store operations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cashiering duties, including cash handling and basic math skills.
  • Experience with product demonstrations is a plus, as well as any supervisory experience.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as strong communication skills are essential for customer interaction.
