JOB TITLE: Packaging Operator

REPORTS TO: Packaging Manager

FLSA POSITION TYPE: Full-time (40 Hours per Week)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Packaging Operator will be involved with all areas of packing beer into cans, kegs, and bottles, following correct procedure while maintaining a high level of cleanliness and quality. In addition you will perform a variety of tasks as assigned in the brewery and warehouse, including cleaning, installation and maintenance of production equipment. A flexible work-schedule is required, as this position's hours are dependent on beer readiness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Adheres to and advances the Mission and Vision Statements of Urban South Brewery.

● Embodies the Core Values and Core Competencies of Urban South Brewery.

● Operate canning equipment while maintaining a quality forward mindset

● Perform keg cleaning and filling duties

● Build keg and cases pallets, preparing inventory for shipment

● Conduct quality control of various packaging processes

● Look and monitor fill levels in various packaging types

● Monitor aesthetics of outer packaging and labels

● Alert Packaging Manager when stock levels of packaging materials

● Learn the mechanics of the packaging line and assist in repairs

● Maintain a neat and organized work environment

● Attend all team meetings as requested.

● Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ● Must possess a valid driver's license

● Performance duties of this job include regularly being required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk, hear, and smell.

● Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 lbs.

● Must have mechanical aptitude

● Attentive and can easily learn and adapt to new equipment and processes

● Must be able to work flexible days and hours

● High School Diploma or equivalent

● Clean Driving Record

● Forklift experience a Plus

● Any Brewery, production experience a PLUS

IMPORTANT SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

● Ability to work independently with little supervision – self motivated

● Attention to detail

● High level of craft beer product knowledge

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
