Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Service Writer with strong automotive parts knowledge to join our growing service department. This role is critical to expanding our customer-pay work by delivering exceptional service experiences, accurately writing repair orders, and ensuring parts availability for timely repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers, listen to their concerns, and accurately document service requests.
- Prepare and manage repair orders, ensuring clear communication between customers and technicians.
- Provide accurate estimates for labor and parts, explaining work needed in a professional manner.
- Coordinate with the parts department to verify availability and compatibility of parts for repairs.
- Upsell recommended services and repairs to increase customer-pay work.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers through follow-up and status updates.
- Ensure compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Service Writer/Advisor in an automotive dealership or repair shop required.
- Solid understanding of automotive systems and parts, especially for used vehicles.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in dealership management systems (experience with Tekion is a plus).
Requirements:
- Full-time availability (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 8:30 AM–5:30 PM).
- Reliable attendance is critical for this position.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs.
