Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Service Writer with strong automotive parts knowledge to join our growing service department. This role is critical to expanding our customer-pay work by delivering exceptional service experiences, accurately writing repair orders, and ensuring parts availability for timely repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers, listen to their concerns, and accurately document service requests.
• Prepare and manage repair orders, ensuring clear communication between customers and technicians.
• Provide accurate estimates for labor and parts, explaining work needed in a professional manner.
• Coordinate with the parts department to verify availability and compatibility of parts for repairs.
• Upsell recommended services and repairs to increase customer-pay work.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers through follow-up and status updates.
• Ensure compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Service Writer/Advisor in an automotive dealership or repair shop required.
• Solid understanding of automotive systems and parts, especially for used vehicles.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in dealership management systems (experience with Tekion is a plus).

Requirements:

• Full-time availability (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 8:30 AM–5:30 PM).
• Reliable attendance is critical for this position.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift at least 50lbs.
