The Campus Minister plays a vital role in fostering the spiritual, emotional, and social growth of At-Risk youth on our campus. This position is responsible for developing a spiritual life program that includes Bible study, worship and organizing special events and outings. The Campus Minister also supports residents during times of personal crisis and helps cultivate a welcoming environment for exploring faith.

This position will serve our residential boys program, consisting primarily of teenage boys who are struggling with family and home-related issues. The vast majority of our boys are adopted and struggling with attachment issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging educational programs that promote spiritual growth and understanding of Christian teachings.
  • Provide Christian counseling to youth facing personal challenges, offering support in crisis management situations.
  • Actively communicate with Residents to build trust and rapport, ensuring they feel valued and heard.
  • Offer support to Residents, help them navigate their emotions during difficult times.

This role is a part time, hourly role. However, there are opportunities to combine this with direct care responsibilities to be a full time, salaried role. For those seeking a full time role, on campus housing may be available.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate young adults.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with Residents, and staff members.
  • Background in Christian counseling or a ministry related fields is required.
  • Ability to manage crises effectively while providing compassionate support to those in need.
  • A deep understanding of Christian values and teachings that guide interactions with youth.
  • Passion for working with young people and fostering their spiritual development.
  • Understanding of issues related to adoption and other family related struggles is important.

This role is essential for nurturing the next generation's faith journey while providing a supportive community environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $22.00 per hour
